I really like your work. Such a cool style to it. This is my favorite blog to visit because it helps remind me that we animators aren't real artists:)

Thanks, Hyrum--but what's this? Believe me, animators are real artists and I personally feel that goes double for the ones whose work I know at Disney and Dreamworks(and obviously Pixar, not forgetting them-well, frankly all these places are cross-pollinated to a large extent). It just has to be that much better, that much more finessed and plussed...and what I've seen on Bolt is real character animation, no two ways about it. I felt the same way about Panda. Of course, many of the animators were longtime 2D pencil-wielding artists on both productions.

But I think you're just being modest. : )

I had an art teacher in high school(she was still teaching there recently- Janet Weber at Immaculate Heart in Hollywood)who really set me straight when one day I sheepishly said I just didn't feel, being someone who was strictly interested in drawing, that I qualified to call myself an "artist"(have pity--I was only 15 or so). But boy, I remember mild-mannered Janet really telling me sharply that I certainly was an artist and don't ever hesitate to call myself one, either.
I had this notion that you just had to be able to paint, to create "finished" works of art that would hang in a gallery or something.

But I'm going on & on and ignoring your nice words--sorry! Thanks heaps for them! You're probably just taking the mickey on me, so to speak. ; )

Hey, Jenny, maybe I should make more outrageous comments so I get long replies like Hyrum and Eddie, too.

I'll start the day after tomorrow (which is always when I start everything.)

I love how loose you draw!! the lines feel alive. How do you achieve it on the computer? Do you use Sketchbook pro? Because they dont' feel like photoshop. Really cool blog, I'm gonna follow it from now on.
