midnight
One of my very favorite films (of all time, kids) is Mitchell Leisen's "Midnight". It's just perfection.
I've seen it many times, but I can always stop and watch it again. It's just been released on DVD and since the NY Times has seen fit to give it one of the most intelligent reviews I've seen in recent years last week it's been on my brain.
I was thinking of Midnight when I doodled this. Everyone: drawings aside--you can't go wrong with John Barrymore(Drew's grandpappy), Claudette Colbert, Don Ameche(yes, Don Ameche!), A Billy Wilder script and Paris, Paramount(as Ernst Lubistch called it). Seek it out.

You're channeling Colbert on that one for sure - it's hard to get her eyes just right, but by George, you've done it. My great-aunt Babe was her roomie on Broadway for a while in the Roaring '20s. Shoulda flopped it tho, she was a left-side gal. I like "Midnight", too - Barrymore and Claudette were definitely worth the price of admission - it was even on TCM recently in a nice print. Nice sketch!
Wow, Jenny!
Your sketches are just perfection. I love them!
lovely!!!! wow wow wow wow
Whoa. I came on here to post a comment and low and behold, another Nico (we're fairly rare) beat me to the punch! Anyway, I linked to this via a post today on LAObserved.com, and just wanted to say how much I like your illustrations. So..yeah, that's all. : ) Thanks!

Lovely Claudette sketch. I Recently read a collection of Billy Wilder interviews, so I've been filling in the gaps in my BW knowledge- I will seek out "Midnight".
