I love the restless energy of the child and the look in the older girl's/mom's/ eyes. It feels like the kid is being a bit noisy and the mom/ big sister has had enough. Hurry up already! The bangs feathered across her eyes are a nice touch.

Funny-I don't think of it as sad...it's not really an on the spot drawing, either, it's more of a remembered impression. I was thinking of a huge hospital waiting room, of course--but those places are so busy and full of an incredibly wide array of types and activities that there's no room to be sad or feel sad when drawing any of it. : ) It makes it bearable, I guess, to think of other people and see what they're up to. Even the most apparently emotion-fraught groups have a comforting appeal in their impression, in that there's a big family unit there(of which I imagined these two girls)--all hanging together for whoever they're waiting for; if it was a single person all alone, that would be much more unbearably sad to me.
