hi, i randomly stumbled here and woo! I checked out all your sketchees I really like your sketching lines. Lots of variety, motion, intent, life. I could go on.... how you got hooked up at your job? just applied? i trying the same things now, dats why i ask
What a hound! I once had a big brown and white pup with long ears that we called Joe. His mom was a blue tick and dad was a black and tan. Joe had the HUGEST feet and no sense and we had to give him away because he just did not fit into the apartment. This sketch of your dog reminds me of Joe.
Doodlers, if we lived in an apt we'd have been killed by this lummox now, so I can sympathise with your Joe situation. I'll bet he was a pistol! They all are, it seems, this breed. Weetie here is definitely an ox--albeit a lithe, althletic, super-energized ox...insane, too. But loveable! We had no intention of adopting him; we were volunteering at the local humane society, and I was just walking around, started playing with this bouncy chewer through the fencing...when a young guy who'd been leading all the dogs off on "the Big Walk" came for Weet with the disposable blue nylon lead. "Um, is he coming back?" I asked? "Uh-uh-uh--um, no..." said the kid. I blurted out: "We're adopting him!"(which wasn't true). Really rash and stupid thing to do, but I just had to--and we had talked about a second dog(we have a lab, too, who's 11 now)...anyway, I've never been sorry. Much. ; )
Hi Jen. Are most of your sketches here on the Cintique? Or are you more of a paper person? Also do you have the type of tablet that lets you see the line right on the tablet? I don't think I could get used to drawing on a tablet while looking at the monitor. Your work is really inspirational. keep it up.
Acetate, yep, this all Cintiq...I didn't mean to do so many that way, but...if I post a "real" pen sketch now it'll be a big deal! ; ) And the Wacom Cintiq tablet is a new thing where you actually draw directly ON the screen. I have an old(really old)tablet at home that's the old fashioned type, and I kind of hate it for the reasons you mention--also the old pen is a crude one with poor response to pressure. The new pen is brilliant, really--feels very natural.

Can i animate a scene of this guy when it's in production? Sweet work!

Aw--thanks, D! This dog draws himself, believe me. I'll call in that animation offer, btw. ; D
mantoe, you guessed it: I just applied! Good luck!

nice colors and pose! i like his face a lot.
Thanks, David G.!
He's a blue dog, that's for sure. Not sad, just blue. The face is all him, I can't even do it justice. Much more cartoony than I'm able to get!
